1550 grams of pure technology. Forget what you know about the Ksyrium Elite, only the name remains the same. Your ride will be boosted dramatically thanks to a radical inertia reduction. We have designed every single component with weight savings in mind while delivering the same proven elite durability.
Lighter, especially where it really matters for a boosted ride
ISM lightened rims reduces inertia by 30%
Low profile front rim reduces rotational masses to provide easier steering
New hub design to keep weight as low as possible
Stiffer for more efficient out of the saddle pedaling
Wider wheel dish thanks to asymmetrical rear rim
Isopulse lacing provides better spoke tension balance for high stiffness under high loads
Optimized bearing positionning reduces axle flexion thus wheel deflection
Packed with high end technologies to add value to your wheel choice
ISM weight reduction
Differenciated rim height and asymetrical rim extrusion
Delivered with the new high closure efficiency and light quick releases (BR 301)

Technologies
Fore
One wall of the rim is drilled with a tapered point with carbide that heats the alloy, and pushes it inside the rim. It creates a chimney that can then be threaded. The integrated M7 nipple can be screwed directly into this thread.
FTS-L - Force Transfer System Light
The ‘FTS Nose’ is an extension of the hub body that goes inside the freewheel body. The contact zone between the pawl and the FTS Nose is reinforced by 2 stainless steel inserts, which allows for manufacturing an all aluminium, mono-piece hub body. The pawls are centered exactly in the middle of the freewheel body.
ISM - Inter Spoke Milling
Since the rim wall between each spoke hole is subjected to very little stress, it is possible to mill it to save weight. The rim is CNC machined, leaving just the necessary material to obtain the best weight/rigidity/durability ratio. A Mavic® multi-patented exclusive concept (US 6 402 256).
Isopulse
Specific hub and lacing with spokes that are radially mounted on the freewheel side and are crossed by two on the opposite side.
Maxtal
Exclusive alloy developed specifically for Mavic by Pechiney Alcan Group, for rim manufacturing and optimizing alloy characteristics vs. that specific use.
QRM+ - Qualité Roulements Mavic® Plus
Sealed cartridge bearings including a specific high precision adjustment ring. Precisely adjusted to the hub, they participate to the lateral rigidity due to an optimized positionning.
SUP - Soudé Usiné Process
After bending, the rim joint is arc welded. The welded seam is then milled for a smooth finish.
UB Control - Usiné Brut Control
The sidewalls of the rim are milled with a diamond point on a digitally controlled machine after assembly and anodization
